What is the placenta?

The placenta plays an important and honorable role in your baby’s development. It is a temporary but vital organ that attaches to your uterus and provides oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to baby. Your baby is connected to the placenta - to you - by the umbilical cord.

The placenta also helps regulate temperature for the baby and aids in producing antibodies for immune protection. Finally, it produces progesterone which maintains a healthy pregnancy.

How will placenta products help me?
